CHICK PEAS
Opening: Open top or Easy Open This product consists of sponged and blanched chick peas, immersed in a liquid which is mainly made up with water, salt and/or flavourings. Chick peas are preserved in cans, hermetically closed and treated with suitable heat treatment.
Ingredients: Chick peas, water, salt; antioxidant: ascorbic acid
Harvest and manufacturing: In order to guarantee to the final consumer safe products with high nutritional value, the company has stated that pod harvest should be made only at complete ripening and that the manufacturing should begin straight after harvest, checking all the process phases.
Quality: SanPaolina's pulses should belong to 1st category and should be intact and sane, (i.e. without break and parasitic attack) clean (i.e. without traces of ground, dust, insecticide and any other impurity, not wet or excessively moist) not withered, but with typical colour, taste and smell.
Seeds should reach their ordinary growth with typical shape, size and colour, distinctive of the variety.
The final product is brilliant, attractive and consistent. Whole chick peas are scalded and immersed in a brilliant light liquid, which is delicate and slightly sweet
Preservation: SanPaolina’s are natural, so, once opened, the product should be stored in a refrigerator at +4°C and used within 3-4 days.
How to use it: SanPaolina’s pulses are suitable if eaten right away as well as used in recipes. However, for their typical characteristics, we suggest you to use chick peas in the preparation of sauces for pasta, according to the best Italian tradition.
OGM Presence: SanPaolina’s products do not contain OGM material and can be eaten by all the consumers’ categories.
Shelf life: 3 years at room temperature.
